I’m Olivia, a Sarawak-based writer, artist, and Iban woman. This blog is where I share bits and pieces of my life and voice: reflections on culture, identity, parenthood, spirituality, poems inspired by memory, and stories that walk the line between what is seen and unseen.

I write to help me remember, to pass things down, and to make sense of what feels scattered. My work blends prose, poetry, and art, as well as ancestral echoes and modern questions. At its heart, it’s a form of cultural preservation. I also write about Iban culture and heritage, and translate Iban folktales into English to help keep our stories alive and accessible to a wider audience.

My Iban heritage poetry collection, Rituals and Rivers, will be published in 2026. It gathers poems rooted in my personal memory as an Iban woman—an attempt to preserve the culture as I have lived and experienced it, and to pass it down to my children.

Lately, I’ve begun writing fiction more intentionally, especially Sarawak folk noir: stories where ancient beliefs, unresolved pasts, and rural mystery converge.

When I’m not writing or drawing, I run a few small shops:
— Olivia’s Atelier on Etsy, where I offer digital printables, templates, and poetry art.
— Redbubble and Teepublic, where some of my earlier artwork and designs still live.

This blog is where I live online. I write from the spaces in between: between tradition and modernity, motherhood and selfhood, silence and story.
